Chris Wightman is a Partner at CamberView Partners and a founder of the firm.
Before joining CamberView, Mr. Wightman led global corporate governance and portfolio compliance oversight programs for Vanguard, one of the world’s leading investment management firms. In that role, Mr. Wightman assisted the Board of Directors and Proxy Oversight Group with policy decisions and oversaw daily operation of governance and proxy voting matters for nearly 200 Vanguard portfolios that held thousands of equity securities around the globe.
Mr. Wightman began his career at Vanguard in 2000 as a securities regulation attorney in the Legal Department, where he served as assistant secretary of the Vanguard funds and handled a variety of transactional and securities law matters. Prior to that, Mr. Wightman was an associate attorney at a corporate law firm where he worked on business combinations and regulatory issues for financial services and healthcare clients.
Mr. Wightman holds a J.D. from SUNY Buffalo Law School, where he served as a member of the law review’s editorial board and was awarded a fellowship to research and develop joint law and business school courses. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Buffalo.
He is currently a member of SUNY Buffalo’s Dean’s Advisory Council and serves on the alumni association’s New York City steering committee.
