Christopher A. Wightman Appointed to Partner

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — CamberView Partners, LLC, the leading source of independent, investor-led advice for public companies, announced today that Christopher A. Wightman has been appointed as a Partner of the firm. Mr. Wightman joined CamberView in 2012 and, with his knowledge and experience in handling complex shareholder situations, has been a key contributor to the success of our clients and the growth of the firm.

“Chris has been a key part of CamberView from our inception. He translated the idea of running governance-related campaigns for public companies into the reality of delivering successful strategies to our clients, paving the way for the strong impact we have had for clients,” said Abe Friedman, Managing Partner. “Chris has demonstrated repeated success in converting his deep governance and executive compensation expertise into positive client outcomes at many of America’s leading companies.”

Prior to joining CamberView Partners, Mr. Wightman was responsible for Vanguard’s global corporate governance and portfolio compliance oversight programs. He served as a thought leader on corporate governance matters, assisted Vanguard’s Board of Directors and Proxy Oversight Group with policy decisions, and oversaw execution of Vanguard’s proxy voting and engagement programs. Before leading Vanguard’s global proxy voting efforts, Mr. Wightman spent several years as a securities regulation attorney in the company’s legal department and was an associate at a leading corporate law firm. He is currently a member of the SUNY Buffalo Law School Dean’s Advisory Council.

“In order to secure positive outcomes, it is more important than ever that companies clearly understand their institutional investors’ views on corporate governance and contested matters. In less than three years we have built an outstanding advisory firm that is uniquely positioned to support companies in this space,” Mr. Wightman said. “I look forward to continuing CamberView’s work with companies as they navigate an increasingly complex and assertive investor base.”
